Ol Pejeta - Lake Naivasha - Masai Maral
SCHEDULE
DAY 1
Guests arrive in Nairobi Kenya. You will be picked up from the airport and transferred to the Meridien hotel in downtown Nairobi. If your arrival is in the morning, you have a choice
of taking some optional trips in Nairobi. Night at the Meridien.
DAY 2
After breakfast, we will leave on our expedition, heading north to the Ol Pejeta Reserve. Our four-hour drive through lush countryside will take us near Mount Kenya, one of the
tallest mountains in Kenya. We will arrive at the Ol Pejeta Reserve around noon, and usually we arrive early enough to take a short game drive before checking in to Sweet waters camp, which is inside the reserve. Sweetwaters is one of the best camps in Kenya, and its biggest attraction is the waterhole, which is visited by various animals 24 hours a day. Lunch in camp, and after a short rest, we will go on a late afternoon game drive. Night at Sweetwaters Camp.
DAY 3
After an early breakfast, we will go on a morning game drive in search of elephants, lions, zebra, giraffe, buffalo, various antelopes, and rhinos. The chances of seeing rhinos are
pretty high due to aggressive conservation efforts and very effective anti-poaching patrols. We will return to camp for lunch, and depart for a late afternoon safari. We will also visit the chimpanzee sanctuary, which has abused and rescued chimpanzees from all parts of the world. Dinner and night at Sweetwaters camp.
DAY 4
After breakfast, we will go on a short game drive, take pictures at the equator (one foot on the northern hemisphere and one foot on the south!) and head towards Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon will be spent exploring the the garden at Crescent Camp, or relaxing in the garden. In the evening, we will go on our boat ride to photograph hippos up close, and also to see the many birds that are on and near the lake. Dinner and night at Crescent Camp.
DAY 5
After breakfast we will check out of camp and proceed to the Masai Mara. We will arrive by afternoon at the entrance of the Masai Mara, and start our game drive, arriving at camp in time for a late lunch. Evening game drive. Dinner and Night at Zebra Plains Camp.
DAYS 6 & 7
Both days will be spent on game drives looking for elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of antelope. If weather permits, on one of the days we will have early breakfast and have lunch in the bush. This has been one of the favorite things that guests have enjoyed – having lunch or breakfast seated on a blanket in the world famous Masai Mara, with zebras and giraffes in the distance. We will also visit the Mara River to view hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and night at Zebra Plains Camp.
DAY 8
We will leave camp on our game drive as dawn breaks, returning to camp for breakfast between 8:30-9:00 am. We will depart for Nairobi after taking a short game drive to the
main gate. Lunch will be on the way, arriving in Nairobi in the late evening. Please arrange for your flight to leave after 11 pm tonight, or you can stay overnight (at an extra fee) in
Nairobi and leave the following day.
ADDITIONAL DAYS OF SAFARI CAN BE ADDED TO YOUR SCHEDULE AT AN EXTRA
COST.
